The Australian Longboard Surfing Open caters for surfers of all ages and abilities as well as those that identify with the carefree surfing lifestyle. We recognise that contests are not for everyone...indeed a large part of longboard community identifies with it through many other mediums. Whether it be art, music, photography, working with wood, clothing, painting, cooking or community involvement, surfers have developed their own unique culture out of the surf.

FRIDAY MORNING

ONEWAVE is a non-profit surf community raising awareness for being in a funk, anything from depression, anxiety and bipolar. Everyone is invited to be part of the ONEWAVE community.

How to get involved in ONEWAVE: Come down to Fluro Friday. On Friday March 25th at 6.30am (NSW time) we will hold a Fluro Friday at Kingscliff  assemble in the Lions Park next to the Cudgen Headlands SLSC. People dress in fluro and come down and surf/swim/ride inflatable swans/do yoga, followed by a free breakfast thanks to the Kingscliff Beach Hotel, to get people talking about mental health and make sure anyone going through a funk knows they are not alone.

After the One Wave Andrew Carruthers the offical WSL Chaplain will lead out a a group paddle out to remember those that have been part of our surfing community that have died. He will then return to the beach and bless the event so that we may all surf safely.
